Decided to save the empty perfume bottles that I went through all 2025… and clearly Kayali has been my favorite. I do want to try different brands and scents for 2026, like musk, florals and fresh/clean scents. Clearly I’m a lover of gourmand and sweet scents, So let’s see what my 2026 empties look like 😊
... Read moreIt's so fun looking back at my perfume empties from 2025! Seeing all those finished bottles really shows what scents truly captured my heart (and nose!) throughout the year. As you can tell, Kayali definitely stole the show for me. Their gourmand fragrances have a way of just wrapping you in a delicious, comforting cloud – think vanilla, caramel, sugary notes, and sometimes a hint of fruit or spice. If you're like me and adore those sweet, edible-smelling perfumes, Kayali's Vanilla | 28, Utopia Vanilla Coco | 21, or even Dèjà Vu White Flower | 57 (which has a beautiful warmth) are fantastic starting points. What I love about gourmands is how cozy and inviting they feel, perfect for any season when you want to feel a little extra sweet.
But as much as I love my gourmands, I'm already dreaming up my 2026 fragrance journey, and it's all about exploring new territories! I'm really keen to dive into musk, florals, and fresh/clean scents. Musks can be incredibly versatile, ranging from soft and powdery to deep and sensual. They often act as a beautiful base, enhancing other notes. For something clean and sophisticated, I might look into brands known for crisp white musks, while if I want something more intriguing, a warmer, animalic musk could be fun.
Then there are florals! While I've dabbled, I want to truly embrace them. From delicate rose and jasmine to vibrant tuberose and gardenia, the floral family is huge. I'm thinking about trying some light, airy florals for spring and summer, or maybe a rich, heady floral for evenings. And for those days when you just want to feel impeccably put-together, fresh and clean scents are a must. These often feature notes like citrus, green accords, aquatics, or light aldehydes, giving that 'just out of the shower' or crisp linen vibe. Brands like Philosophy, with their 'Amazing Grace' line, are well-known for this category, offering that effortless, clean feeling.
Speaking of other brands, while Kayali was my MVP for 2025, my empties collection also featured a few gems from Kilian and Victoria's Secret. Kilian, for instance, offers incredibly luxurious and often complex fragrances, sometimes with a gourmand twist but also beautiful woody or boozy notes. Exploring their range could lead to some exciting discoveries. Victoria's Secret, on the other hand, is great for more playful, everyday scents or body mists that layer beautifully.
When you're ready to branch out like I am, remember to test perfumes on your skin, not just on paper, as they react differently with your body chemistry. Give it a few hours to see how the scent develops. Don't be afraid to try discovery sets or small rollerballs before committing to a full bottle. It's all about finding what makes you feel amazing. Here’s to a fragrant 2026 full of new favorites and perhaps a few more empties to proudly display!
