Storm incoming

2025/8/23 Edited to

... Read moreHaving lived through several monsoon seasons in Kuantan, I’ve learned that preparation is key to staying safe and comfortable. The 2025 monsoon is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds, so it’s wise to stock up on essential supplies such as non-perishable food, drinking water, and emergency kits well in advance. Based on recent reports, the storm is expected to reach key areas including Kuala Terengganu, Pahang, and Johor, so residents in these regions should remain alert and follow weather updates closely. It’s important to secure your home by checking the condition of doors and windows and clearing out gutters to prevent water damage. One tip that helped me last year was to prepare a backup power source, like a portable charger or generator, since power outages are common during heavy storms. Also, avoid unnecessary travel during peak storm times to reduce risks. Lastly, keep emergency contact numbers and local safety information handy. Community support is crucial during such times, so check on neighbors, especially the elderly or those with special needs. Staying informed and prepared will help you navigate the Kuantan monsoon season more safely and with peace of mind.
