Let's settle this once and for all

... Read moreThe phrase 'No one knows the day or the hour' is often quoted in Christian conversations about the future and the return of Jesus, sometimes leading to misunderstandings about how we should live in anticipation. From my own reflections and studies, I've come to see that this saying isn’t meant to discourage readiness but to remind us of God's sovereignty and the importance of faithfulness at all times. Many Christians may hear this phrase and think it excuses a passive attitude, but that’s far from the original intent. In fact, Jesus emphasizes constant watchfulness and preparedness. The mystery around the exact timing strengthens the call to live righteously every day rather than relying on knowing specific dates. Additionally, understanding Jesus as part of the Godhead affirms His divine authority and reliability in these promises. This awareness encourages believers not to dismiss His return as uncertain or irrelevant but to embrace it with hope and active faith. In my experience, embracing this perspective transformed how I approach daily challenges and spiritual growth—knowing that without a set timetable, the best way to honor Jesus is by embodying His teachings in every moment. It’s an invitation to live intentionally and with trust in God’s perfect plan, even when details remain unseen.
