Place your trust in him. 💙

... Read moreI remember looking at a picture recently, one with a young woman sitting quietly, almost contemplatively, under an overcast sky. It made me think about those days when life feels a bit grey, and worries can easily start to cloud our minds. It was then that Matthew 6:30 came to mind, that beautiful reminder: “And if God cares so wonderfully for the wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?” This scripture isn't just a nice thought; it's a profound truth I've had to lean into so many times. We spend so much energy worrying about what we'll eat, what we'll wear, or what tomorrow holds. But just like those delicate wildflowers, which don't toil or spin but are clothed in splendor, we are infinitely more precious to our Creator. This verse from Matthew 6 encourages us to observe nature and understand God's meticulous care, assuring us that if He provides for the transient beauty of the field, He will undoubtedly provide for us. For me, truly absorbing this scripture has been a journey. It's about letting go of the need to control everything and instead, choosing to trust God's intricate plan. I've found that when I start my day by intentionally placing my concerns in His hands, even on a seemingly ordinary 'bonito martes,' there's a lightness that comes. It shifts my perspective from anxiety about what might go wrong to appreciation for what is good right now. It's about recognizing the beauty and blessings in the everyday, seeing past the overcast skies to the underlying promise of His provision. How do I practice this 'trust God' scripture daily? One way is through prayer, specifically prayers of gratitude and surrender. Instead of just listing my problems, I try to acknowledge God's past faithfulness and declare my trust in His future provision. Another way is by simply observing nature, much like the image of the young woman and the bare tree. Seeing the resilience of a small bush or the way wildflowers burst into color reminds me of God's consistent care for creation, and by extension, for me. This helps reinforce the message of Matthew 6:30, making it a living truth in my life. It's not always easy, of course. There are still moments when doubt creeps in. But then I return to promises like Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Or Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” These aren't just verses; they're lifelines that help me anchor my trust when the storms of life hit. So, whether you're facing a challenging Monday or enjoying a peaceful 'bonito martes,' remember the wildflowers. Remember Matthew 6:30. Remember that you are fearfully and wonderfully made, and God's good love for you is boundless. Place your trust in Him, and watch how His peace can transform your outlook, one day at a time.
