A story in 3 words📖

#writingvibes #fyplemon8

I want to see some of the best stories you guys can come up with. As I say I love and appreciate you guys and have a good night💛☺️

3/9 Edited to

... Read moreUsing just three words as a foundation for storytelling is a fantastic way to spark creativity and overcome writer's block. In this case, the words 'prosper,' 'guardian,' and 'royalty' offer a rich tapestry of themes to explore—from tales of thriving kingdoms to protectors who ensure prosperity and legacy. When I first tried this prompt, I envisioned a story about a guardian assigned to protect a royal heir during a time of turmoil. The guardian's mission was not only to preserve the heir's life but to help the kingdom prosper despite looming threats. Writing with such constraints made me focus on character motivations and core plot elements, which often get diluted in longer projects. This exercise also encourages writers to weave symbolism and allegory into their work—for example, 'prosper' could symbolize hope or growth, 'guardian' might represent loyalty or sacrifice, and 'royalty' often stands for power and responsibility. Thinking about these words helped deepen my understanding of narrative arcs and how to create emotional impact even in very brief stories. For anyone looking to develop their writing skills, participating in challenges like this is invaluable. It forces concise yet meaningful expression, hones vocabulary, and nurtures originality. Plus, sharing your story with a community—as encouraged in this post—provides feedback and inspiration that can further improve your craft. Give it a try and see how these three words ignite your imagination!

Royalty by mochi I woke up today in a bad mood, I got ready for school but when I got down stairs my mom stared at me and told me I'm not going to school today "What why?" I asked with genuine confusion, "Because I'm not letting my daughter go to school dressed like.... whatever THIS is" I froze, I was just wearing a basic blue hoodie in jeans I was so so confused "whats wrong with this? I dress like this all the time" my mom made a face of disgust at me, and I couldn't help but feel hurt, how could my own mom look at me with disgust? wasn't she supposed to love me no matter what? she was supposed to protect me and be my guardian "Lets be honest, jeans do not fit you, you belong in the garbage, your such a mistake" my mom replied coldly and turned around not even looking at me, I couldn't help it, my eyes started burning, 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒎𝒚 𝑶𝑾𝑵 𝒎𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕 𝒎𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔? What did I do to deserve this? I tried to make an excuse because I didn't believe my own mom would be like this, maybe she's just having a bad day? I'll just go to school, and when I get home maybe she will be in a better mood, I started for the door but my mom glared at me, I still left, I got on the bus and couldn't help but think something was off, I tried to ignore it "Sophia? Sophia? you in there?" my best friend Ruby said, I snapped back into reality "yeah yeah I'm here" she rolled her blue eyes "you dont look so good what happened?" "nothing" I replied while looking out the window "friends don't lie! I know something happened so just tell me!" "well.. ok ok.... my mom said I couldn't go to school dressed like... this, and that I belonged in the garbage" "WHAT! that old-" "calm down, I'm sure she is just having a bad day, she'll be fine by tomorrow" Ruby glared at me but stopped pushing, thats when the mean girl chole came over here "What do you want" part 2 if asked!

Grief makes you think you have to say it perfectly. You don’t. You just need somewhere for it to go. If you don’t give it space, it stays in your body and shows up in ways you don’t expect. Journaling lets it land. Not polished. Not pretty. Just honest enough. Start small.
