It’s not just another biography but a story which is hugely relatable to any woman in modern society who is trying to stand out as an individual. It’s a memoir of a woman, a child, an actress and many more, trying to define her identity in the world of cinematography filled with stereotypes. It’s about choosing your true self despite what the society perceives you as. Recognition struggle and feeling invisible. Challenges of white superiority in acting. Even though she describes her struggles from a black woman’s pov, I still found a lot of the themes largely relatable as a woman.
