For the French loaf, maintaining the right oven temperature of 425°F (220°C) is key to getting that signature thin, crispy crust while keeping the interior soft and airy. Don't underestimate the power of steam in the oven; placing a small tray of water at the bottom rack creates steam that enhances the crust’s crunchiness beautifully. Also, brushing the top with an egg wash or melted butter before baking adds a gorgeous golden shine and appealing texture. The 30-minute rolls are fantastic when you're short on time but still want fresh bread. Blooming the yeast properly in warm water with sugar ensures a good rise. Using a stand mixer with a dough hook makes kneading efficient and consistent. Once shaped, letting the rolls rise adequately under a towel creates a perfectly soft and fluffy interior. My favorite was the artisan Dutch oven bread—a crusty outside with a soft, tender inside, all made with minimal ingredients and care.
