Advice for new moms🤍

2/3 Edited to

... Read moreBecoming a new mom is a transformative experience that can often feel overwhelming, but it's important to remember that there’s no single way to do motherhood “right.” From my own journey, I learned quickly that prioritizing rest above perfection was crucial. The dishes and laundry can wait, but your well-being cannot. Sleep when you get the chance, and never feel guilty about it. One of the biggest lessons was accepting that love and bonding with my baby might not be instantaneous fireworks. It’s completely normal for that deep connection to grow over time. Listening to my instincts and tuning out the endless noise of online advice helped reduce anxiety. Of course, consulting a pediatrician whenever something felt off was reassuring and kept me grounded. Asking for help was a game changer. Letting family and friends hold the baby or help with chores didn’t reflect any weakness—it reflected self-awareness and strength. Social media often shows only the highlights, so I learned not to compare my struggles to others’ curated moments. This helped me cultivate self-compassion and patience during physical and emotional healing. Finally, carving out tiny moments for myself—whether a warm shower, fresh air, or a quiet cup of coffee—became essential to my mental health. Those small acts of self-care rekindled my energy and joy in motherhood. Ultimately, I realized I was the perfect mom for my baby, not because I was flawless but because I was uniquely theirs.
