My February Reads

I have always been an avid reader, but never thought too share the books I’ve read too others. I decided this year, instead of challenging myself too read the most books possible this year, that I wanted too reread old book series and try new books that have been on my TBR for awhile.

In total I read 7 books this month

✨My Re-reads:

Catching fire⭐️ (I read this a long time ago and only remembered things from the first book, so it was a fun experience and felt like i was reading it for the first time)

The Duke and I⭐️ (I’ve only read the first couple books of this series and it was a couple years ago, so I did remember quite a bit from this book, but I watched the show before rereading and realized the differences from each)

✨My TBR:

Twisted⭐️ (Im an avid reader of this series and have read every book since it came out, this was one of my favorite ones)

House of Flame and Shadow⭐️ (This is my favorite book series, so it was on the top of my list, it came out January 30 and I finished it February 2nd, I had a hard time putting it down.

a Touch of Darkness ⭐️ (I saw this book series all over my TikTok and Pinterest and put it on my list. I only read the first book and don’t plan on reading the rest)

✨Random:

Bryce⭐️ (I saw this on my audible and saw that it was only a few hours long. I finished it in one day. Every other chapter I almost DNF, I debated reading the rest of the series, but decided I couldn’t)

Of Beast and Beauty⭐️ (Im a fan of remake books especially beauty and the beast, so It was an immediate read. It was not the kind of remake I was expecting I wasn’t disappointed though

... Read moreFinding your next 'fun book to read' or 'best book' can sometimes feel overwhelming with so many options out there! This month's reading journey was all about balancing beloved re-reads with exciting new additions to my 'TBR' (To Be Read) list, offering a mix of genres that might just be the 'novels to read' you're looking for. When I'm searching for 'entertaining books to read,' I often look for a few key elements. Sometimes it's a gripping plot that keeps me up all night, like the action-packed world of *Catching Fire*. Re-reading this one after so long felt like a fresh experience, reminding me why dystopian novels with strong female leads are always 'fun to read.' If you loved the survival aspect and coming-of-age journey, consider other similar series that delve into societal structures and rebellion. Another great source for 'good books' is exploring popular series or authors. House of Flame and Shadow by Sarah J. Maas, for instance, was on my immediate radar. As a fantasy fan, immersing myself in a rich, detailed world with complex characters is incredibly rewarding. If you're into epic fantasy with a touch of romance (and aren't afraid of a bit of a cry!), this series and others by Maas are usually 'top books to read.' The 'Crescent City Novel' series is definitely one where you 'must read two books first to understand' but the payoff is huge. For those who enjoy a bit of historical charm and romance, The Duke & I from the Bridgerton series was a delightful re-read. It’s fascinating to see the differences between the book and the show, and it definitely fits the bill for a lighthearted yet engaging romance. If you're searching for 'book club recommendations,' historical fiction with a romantic twist can spark lively discussions. There are so many great 'books that are fun to read' in this genre! Then there are the trending books from platforms like BookTok and Pinterest. A Touch of Darkness and Twisted were on my 'TBR' largely due to their online popularity. While *A Touch of Darkness*, a Hades and Persephone retelling, was an interesting dive into mythological romance, it didn't quite capture me enough to continue the series. However, *Twisted*, a fairytale remake with a darker, spicier edge, was a fantastic read for me. If you're into 'dark romance' and 'fairytale remakes,' these can be incredibly 'popular books to read.' Just be mindful of the content warnings, as 'mature themes' are often present. Even quick reads like Bryce or remakes like Of Beast and Beauty have their place. Sometimes you just need a short, intense story, or a fresh take on a classic. While Bryce didn't quite hit the mark for me, it was a good reminder that not every book will be a perfect fit, and that's okay! Of Beast and Beauty was an intriguing 'Beauty and the Beast remake,' showing how diverse retellings can be. Don't be afraid to try diverse 'novels to read' from different authors and subgenres! Ultimately, the 'coolest books of all time' are subjective, but by exploring different genres, authors, and recommendations, you can curate your own list of 'best books' and ensure your reading journey is always an 'entertaining' one.
