Whelp, certainly not what I imagined but wouldn’t change the interruptions for the world 😅😂 too all of the moms out there trying to find that solo “quiet”time 😉
Being a mom and an author at the same time is an adventure filled with unexpected interruptions and fleeting moments of peace. It's not the quiet, uninterrupted writing sessions you might picture, but the reality makes the creative journey even more rewarding. I’ve found that embracing these interruptions—not fighting them—helps reduce frustration and allows me to stay connected with both my family and my work. One trick that works well is carving out micro time slots throughout the day. Even 10 or 15 minutes of focused writing during nap time or while kids are engaged in activities can accumulate into meaningful progress. It’s less about perfect conditions and more about making the best of what you have. Moreover, involving your kids in your writing process can sometimes turn interruptions into inspiration. Sharing snippets of your story or asking for their ideas can make them feel valued and keep the creative energy flowing. For all the moms out there juggling writing and motherhood, remember this balance is unique to you. It’s okay if the process isn’t picture-perfect. The reality—the “interruptions”—often lead to the most authentic and heartfelt writing. Your solo quiet time might be rare, but your passion and determination will carry you through. Keep writing and cherish those moments, however brief!
