WHY DO WOMEN TEND TO LIVE LONGER THAN MEN?

More often than not, if a woman doesn’t feel right or is in pain, they’ll seek out a doctor to find out why. Many Men, tend to ignore it, or try to make it better by themselves. I don’t mean all women or all men.
I found out the hard way. By not doing something about my lower back hurting over the years, the aches and pains have become chronic. I spent time with a chiropractor, but then stopped going. I am paying the price now. I have no proof that if I had continued to see my chiropractor it wouldn’t have become chronic. I just believe it would not have been as bad as it has been for a while. If I had done daily stretching, and daily core exercises, perhaps I wouldn’t have needed to add a Spine doctor to my gathering list of doctors. Please, Men, don’t do that to yourself. Get help when you need to.

Research consistently shows that women tend to outlive men globally, a phenomenon influenced by a combination of biological, behavioral, and social factors. From a biological perspective, women benefit from genetic and hormonal advantages, such as the protective effects of estrogen on the cardiovascular system, which can contribute to longer life expectancy. Behaviorally, women are often more proactive about their health compared to men. Studies reveal that women are more likely to seek regular medical care, report symptoms promptly, and adhere to prescribed treatments. This early intervention plays a crucial role in preventing minor health issues from developing into serious chronic conditions. Conversely, men frequently delay seeking medical help and may attempt to self-manage pain or discomfort. This can lead to exacerbation of injuries, such as the example shared about untreated lower back pain progressing into chronic issues. Chronic pain conditions not only reduce quality of life but can also influence overall mortality rates. Incorporating daily preventive measures—like stretching, core strengthening exercises, and regular chiropractic or physical therapy sessions—can significantly reduce the risk of chronic musculoskeletal problems. Encouraging men to adopt these habits and to seek timely professional healthcare is essential in addressing this longevity gap. Furthermore, lifestyle factors such as diet, exercise, stress management, and social connections also critically impact longevity. Evidence suggests that engaging in gratitude practices, laughter, and building supportive communities, as highlighted by life coaching philosophies, contribute positively to both mental and physical health. Understanding the gender differences in health behaviors and outcomes helps inform public health strategies and individual choices aimed at improving lifespan and quality of life for everyone. Remember, proactive health management, timely medical care, and positive lifestyle changes are key elements for a longer, healthier life regardless of gender.
