How I styled my "Normal" home.
I wanted to share how I have styled my normal home. As a lover of all things DIY, furniture makeover projects, vintage finds, bohemian anesthetics as well as farmhouse, I wanted to style my home with the things that I love. A few years ago my husband and I started to remodel our main living room, dining area and a kitchen. We first started out by upgrading to vinyl wood planks. We agreed that we were going to repaint all of the interior walls white and that I would be pulling color in from the wall decor, curtains and so forth. My house is my canvas, a space that I display my creative projects and that represents our style of living. The pictures that I have shared you will find a dresser that I refurbished, stripped down to the raw wood, painted and added some boho wallpaper. The curtains that you see in my living room I made with painters drop cloths. The old picture in the dining room above the dresser was a picture that had been in my grandmother's farm house for many years which I also refurbished. I repainted our fireplace which was all gray however I wanted to bring a different look so I decided that a flat black was the tone that I wanted to give that living room. In the dining room/kitchen area repurposed a floor shelf by mounting it to the wall to provide additional shelf space and I decided to add an old baby changing cabinet which was my step daughter's when she was little underneath that shelf. I repainted the cabinet and added wheels to the bottom so that it would serve as both a storage area and when needed a kitchen island. The best way I know how to describe my style is vintage farmhemian. One thing that I can suggest to anyone who is remodeling their home, try thinking outside the box and remember there's no rules to creating a space where you are surrounded by the things you love.
