This book reminded me that I am not the problem nor is my grief. That this grief is something I’ll never “get through” but rather I will carry it for the rest of my life. That I do deserve support and shouldn’t take my sunshine friends who have ghosted me personally because those people aren’t equipped to handle my grief.

It all sucks but it sucks a little less knowing that what I’m experiencing is normal and there isn’t some finish line I need to rush to.

Someday the load will feel lighter… not because it is, but because I’ve gotten better at carrying it. It’s okay if that day isn’t today.

My mom's birthday is coming up on Saturday. I am not sure how I am going to get through the day. I am supposed to work a charity event. I had committed to it well before she passed. She passed on September 20th 2025 11 days after she had an unexpected seizure and never recovered.
