Baby birthday edition
My baby’s first birthday is next month 🥳
I wanted to do the decorate a block for the years to come activity. I ordered a 50 pack of what I thought were normal sized blocks & got these 🥲
Whyyyyyy. I should’ve looked at the sizing but I wasn’t even thinking I needed too 😅
Thinking of what I can do with these that ties into a first birthday.
If you wanna see other ideas for first birthdays or what I have planned let me know! 🤍
I plan on getting bigger newer blocks ✨
Oh, planning a baby's first birthday is such a journey, isn't it? My own 'silly mistake' with those tiny wooden blocks really highlights how easily things can go awry, especially when you're caught up in the excitement! Instead of letting them go to waste, I've been brainstorming some creative ways to incorporate these small, light-colored wooden blocks into our 'Baby birthday edition' welcome decorations, even if they're not for the original 'decorate a block for years to come' activity. First, I thought these little blocks could be fantastic as unique table scatter. Imagine them subtly spread around the cake table or gift area, adding a touch of rustic charm without being overwhelming. You could even paint a few in your party's theme colors! Another idea is to use them for a simple guessing game: 'Guess how many blocks are in the jar?' The closest guess wins a small prize. It’s a fun, low-key activity for guests as they arrive. For a more visual welcome, maybe glue some onto a larger sign to spell out 'ONE' or 'WELCOME' for a DIY photo backdrop – a cute nod to the block theme, even if they're not giant building blocks. Just make sure they're secured and out of reach of curious little hands! Beyond the blocks, I've been diving deep into other 'welcome decoration' ideas for a baby's first birthday. One of my favorites is a personalized welcome sign at the entrance, maybe with a cute picture of the birthday baby. It sets the tone immediately! Balloon garlands in soft, pastel colors are always a showstopper and surprisingly easy to DIY. I’m also planning a 'monthly photo banner' displaying pictures from newborn up to 11 months, leading to the big 'ONE' picture – it’s a beautiful way for guests to see how much baby has grown. For the main party area, a high chair banner, like a glittery 'ONE,' makes for adorable cake smash photos. And instead of the traditional guest book, I'm considering having guests write a wish or advice on pretty notecards and placing them in a decorated box. It’s more personal and something we can cherish. When choosing decorations, I’ve learned to prioritize safety (especially with small items like these blocks!) and keep things budget-friendly. Remember, the goal is to celebrate, not stress! I'd love to hear your favorite easy and unique welcome decoration ideas for a first birthday – perhaps something I haven't even thought of yet!

Die them for sorting games, teach him his colors, write the numbers or abc's on them for when he gets older.
