As someone who has always been passionate about sports and physical education, I truly resonate with Quan Hong’s journey and the role that Republic Polytechnic’s Common Sports & Health Programme (CSHP) played in launching his career. The CSHP is not just a course; it’s a comprehensive pathway that allows students to explore different facets of sports and health education before committing to a specialized diploma. This flexibility is invaluable for students like me who want to try out various disciplines such as sports science, coaching, or health promotion before making a firm decision. In my personal experience, preparing for the EAE (Early Admissions Exercise) can feel daunting, but Quan Hong’s advice to "be confident and be yourself" really hits home. Authenticity during the interview process helped me stand out because it showed my genuine enthusiasm and real understanding of what I wanted from the course—not just what I thought interviewers wanted to hear. It’s important to thoroughly research the programme ahead of time, so you can speak confidently about why it aligns with your career goals. Another key advantage of the CSHP is the hands-on approach to learning, which integrates both theory and practical sessions. This ensures that students are well-equipped not only academically but also in skills like coaching, health assessment, and sports management. These practical skills are essential for a nurturing physical educator aspiring to make a greater impact. For those eyeing an early start in a sports-related career, the EAE application window for ITE and O-Level students offers a fantastic opportunity to secure a spot without the stress of the traditional application routes. Applying early means you can focus on honing your skills and making the most of the resources available at RP. Overall, joining the CSHP through RP’s EAE is an excellent step for any sports enthusiast aspiring to influence the sports and health landscape positively. Quan Hong’s story inspires me to pursue my dreams confidently and authentically, knowing that RP provides a supportive platform to grow both personally and professionally.
