Being Yemeni in the West and on social media, comes with its own challenges. In our culture, it’s often frowned upon for women to be visible online, and I’ve spent time reflecting on why this narrative is placed only on us.

But here’s what I believe: as Yemeni women, we don’t need to fit into anyone else’s beauty standards. You can embrace your culture, your faith, your traditions and still thrive as a beauty influencer without compromising who you are.

I pray we continue to see more Yemeni women shining in this space, inspiring with both their artistry and their values like @Anhar Beauty | انهار بيوتي🇾🇪 and @Huda | Lejemalik #canadianyemeni

... Read moreNavigating the world as a Yemeni woman on social media can feel like walking a tightrope—balancing cultural expectations with personal expression. I've found that embracing our rich heritage doesn’t mean sacrificing our ambitions or creativity. For instance, maintaining traditional values while showcasing makeup artistry allows us to redefine beauty on our own terms. From my experience, building an online presence starts with authenticity. Sharing not just beauty tips but stories about our culture and faith resonates deeply with followers who crave genuine connections. This approach has helped me cultivate a supportive community that celebrates diversity. Another important aspect is representation. Seeing Yemeni women like @Anhar Beauty and @Huda | Lejemalik flourishing inspires me and others to step forward confidently. It shows that we can be both culturally rooted and influencers in the digital age. Social media platforms are powerful tools to uplift our voices, break stereotypes, and showcase the multidimensional identities we hold. For Yemeni women aspiring to enter beauty influencing, my advice is to stay true to your values, engage openly with your audience, and use your platform to empower others. By doing so, we contribute to a broader narrative that challenges outdated norms and highlights our unique beauty and strength.

Less than 10 minutes outside of Chicago, Matari Coffee Co., is a one of a kind Yemeni coffee shop that has the most insane drink and pastry menu. 🍰 Genuinely, I prefer to stick in the city, but this cafe was 100% worth driving to the suburbs for! #chicagoland #chicagocafe #chicagocoffee
