June is for Men’s mental health month. Just check in with the men in your life

6/18 Edited to

... Read moreMen's Mental Health Month in June serves as an important reminder of the unique challenges that men face when it comes to mental health. From my own experience, many men hesitate to open up about their feelings due to societal expectations around masculinity. This month encourages us to break the stigma by simply checking in with the men around us — whether family members, friends, or colleagues. It's important to understand that mental health struggles are not always visible. For example, a man might appear fine on the outside but could be struggling with stress, anxiety, or depression internally. A simple question like “How have you been feeling lately?” can open the door to meaningful conversations. Research shows that 94% of people acknowledge the need for mental health awareness, and this statistic reminds us how vital it is to keep the conversation going. By giving men a safe space to share their feelings, we empower them to seek help without fear of judgment. In practical terms, supporting men’s mental health can include encouraging them to engage in activities that promote well-being, such as exercise, hobbies, or social events. It also involves being patient and listening actively when they do choose to talk. During this month, consider setting reminders to reach out or simply spending quality time together. Your presence can be a powerful form of support. Remember, checking in isn’t just for June — it’s a practice that can nurture healthier relationships year-round.

🧠💙 MEN HURT TOO. LET THEM HEAL. This June, we’re breaking the silence. So many men are struggling quietly. Swallowing sadness. Masking pain with overworking, anger, or isolation. Not because they don’t feel… but because they were never taught how to. ✨ Men deserve safe spaces. Softness. He

"Men Feel Too: A Poem for the Silent Fighters"
June is Men’s Awareness Month. This one’s for the men who carry storms in silence. For the fathers, sons, brothers, and lovers who were told to "man up" instead of speak up. For the ones who love deeply but bleed quietly.🖤 Healing is heroic. Crying is courageous. Vulnerability is victory

Men’s mental health is IMPORTANT.
Men are often suppressing their emotions and struggles because they’re taught to. They’re taught that to show emotion is to show weakness and that they “aren’t a real man” for doing so. This is toxic and unproductive. Men are HUMAN BEINGS who experience emotions too. Men, speak up. We are listening

MENTAL HEALTH CHECK
In 2024, I’m prioritizing healthy boundaries and letting go of toxic friendships, and even acquaintanceships. I’ve spent too much time focusing on how I could be my best for other people, but ended up losing myself. Sometimes a “best friend” really isn’t a true friend, and it’s okay to move on
