One of the first steps I took was switching to a wide-tooth comb for detangling to minimize breakage and scalp irritation. I started avoiding aggressive brushing, especially when my hair was wet, because that’s when it’s most vulnerable. Another game changer was adjusting my styling techniques. Instead of high-heat tools, I used low-heat settings and experimented with heat protectant sprays to protect hair strands. I also tried air drying more often to give my hair a break from heat altogether. Also, regular scalp massages with natural oils like argan or coconut oil helped improve blood flow, encouraging growth and moisture retention. I found that choosing the right tools—soft-bristle brushes, microfibre towels, and silk pillowcases—helped reduce frizz and damage overnight. Over time, these gentle practices transformed my hair texture, making it softer, thicker, and healthier. If you’re looking to stop damaging your hair and promote longevity, try integrating these simple, intentional steps into your daily routine for sustainable hair health.
