2026 must begin with truth…
I did something hard this week.
I looked at myself honestly.
not with hatred.
not with the voice that says “you should be ashamed.”
just… truth.
I assessed:
→ my actual strength (not what I imagine)
→ the movements I avoid because they’re hard
→ the discomforts I’ve been ignoring
→ where I feel weakest
this is Nigredo — the alchemical blackening.
the confrontation with what is.
and here’s the distinction that’s changing everything:
harsh judgment: “you’re weak and you’ve failed”
honest assessment: “this is where I am. now I can begin.”
I took photos (private, just for me).
I tested my baseline.
I wrote the truth without softening it or attacking myself.
it was uncomfortable.
but discomfort is information — not proof that something is wrong.
in alchemy, you cannot skip Nigredo.
the caterpillar must dissolve before the butterfly forms.
this is the chrysalis.
the liminal space between who I was surviving as and who I’m becoming.
I’m sitting here — not rushing to fix.
just witnessing.
this new year begins with seeing clearly. I’m learning to hold truth without violence.
