How To Test The Spirit!✨
In God’s word he has given us divine instruction on how we should live out our lives, and what we need to do, to strengthen our relationship with him.
In 1 John 4:1-3, God is telling/ teaching us how to discern if that “person” is from God or the evil one. God goes on to tell us that if they don’t “confess”with their mouth that Jesus Christ has walked this earth in the “flesh” then they have the spirit of the Antichrist.
God tells us this in his word to help us navigate through life by discerning the people that may come into our lives or people we may cross paths with, because not every person that you come in contact with is of God, sent by God or has great intentions when it comes to you. Anyone can say they are of God, but if there life and actions does not reflect Gods word/ spiritual fruit, then that will reveal to you that they are not of God, and it will also show you their heart posture!

From my experience, it’s not always easy to tell who truly represents God, especially in today’s world where many claim divine authority but their actions contradict spiritual teachings. According to 1 John 4:1-3, the key test is whether a person confesses with their mouth that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. This confession reflects a foundational Christian belief affirming Christ’s incarnation. I’ve found that beyond verbal confession, their life must display spiritual fruit—qualities like love, patience, kindness, and humility—as taught in scripture. Someone might claim to be from God, but if their behavior shows dishonesty, pride, or harm to others, it usually reveals a different spirit. This aligns with what the passage warns about the spirit of the Antichrist. In real life, testing the spirit also means prayerfully discerning and seeking guidance from God’s word. Sometimes, contrasting someone’s claims with biblical truth can help reveal their true heart posture. It’s an ongoing process that requires attentiveness and wisdom. Trusting your spiritual discernment is important, but so is nurturing your relationship with God to grow in understanding. I encourage anyone navigating relationships or spiritual communities to reflect on these teachings. It’s a reminder that not every person who presents themselves as a believer truly aligns with God’s truth. This discernment protects your faith from confusion or deception and helps maintain a closer walk with God’s intentions for your life.
