I am NOT seeing things
For about a year, I would occasionally see a bald eagle between my small town and the next town over. I have terrible eyesight, so I don't blame people for asking. but I got so tired of hearing, "Are you sure you didn't see a vulture?" that this time, I turned around so that I could try to capture a photo of it.
I may have terrible eyes, but I can tell the difference between an eagle and a vulture when they are close enough. 😜
Besides finally having proof, it was amazing being able to take a moment and appreciate this beautiful creature. I may have even teared 😢 up a little bit as I drove away.
The American bald eagle, a symbol of strength and freedom, thrives in various habitats across North America. These majestic birds were once near extinction due to hunting and habitat loss, but conservation efforts have led to a remarkable recovery. Spotting a bald eagle can be a thrill, especially as they soar gracefully through the sky. If you're hoping to witness these magnificent creatures, consider visiting national parks or wildlife refuges during their migration seasons. Understanding their behaviors, such as their feeding habits and nesting preferences, can enrich your experience further. Moreover, photography can be a powerful tool to document such beautiful moments, allowing others to appreciate nature's wonders as you have. Remember, whether you're an avid birdwatcher or a casual observer, every sighting counts towards the conservation of these majestic birds. Let's raise awareness and celebrate the beauty of wildlife together.
