DIY Strawberry Crunch
If you were raised with ice cream trucks then you know the delectable concoction of strawberry ice cream surrounded by vanilla and coated in strawberry crunchies. It was the bomb!
Summer ushered in ice cream trucks throughout every neighborhood growing up in the 90’s. I can smell the generators on the back of those creepy vans, blaring jingles that every kid could hear ten blocks away. Once we were all gathered in line I knew exactly what my heart desired; the Strawberry Shortcake. 🍓
As an adult, now lactose-intolerant, I torture myself for these that I can now buy safely in the freezer section of my local grocery store. I’m now 100% certain it is the crunch that makes me crave them and it’s so easy to make at home!
Ingredients:
24 Golden Oreos
1 (3oz) box Strawberry Jello
4 tbsp butter, melted
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using a food processor chop the Oreos into small crumbles. Grab a small mixing bowl and put the crumbles into the bowl. Add the strawberry jello powder. Combine the mixture of jello and Oreos with the melted butter, gently. Spread rhe mixture on a baking sheet covered with a silicone mat or parchment paper. Bake for 8 minutes. Once removed from oven let cool, completely.
Use crunch to top ice cream, brownies, cakes…the list goes on. This is one of my favorites and although it’s filled with unnatural ingredients, it’s easy, quick and a showstopper for all your treats! 💕
