Week 3 of my rhinoplasty update
By the third week post-rhinoplasty, many find that swelling has reduced significantly, but the nose remains sensitive. It’s important to care for your skin gently during this phase. I recommend using light, breathable makeup products like concealer sparingly to avoid irritation. Avoid heavy glam looks that might put pressure on your healing nose. Nose taping can be a helpful aid in shaping and supporting your nose after surgery. I’ve found that applying tape properly, especially avoiding pulling or pressing too hard on the nose, makes the recovery more comfortable. Some patients share tutorials online that guide you step-by-step on how to tape successfully without causing harm. My personal experience involves limiting activities that could stress the nose, such as avoiding heavy physical exertion or sleeping in positions that press on the nose. Communicating with family during recovery provides emotional support, which is just as vital for healing. For example, having my dad visit and chat was uplifting and helped keep a positive mindset. If you're considering rhinoplasty or are recovering like me, remember every person’s timeline can differ. Be patient and listen to your body’s signals. Consistent gentle care, proper taping, and social support contribute greatly to smooth healing and satisfying results.
