Things I wish I did during High School

•(Senior/school activities) I didn’t do much of these activities because everything required money. But thinking about it I should have asked my parents to borrow some money. I missed out on a lot of senior fun activities such as bowling, skating, hiking, beach day, senior sign-in/sign out and so much more. But then again most of these activities didn’t require any money I was usually busy or didn’t want to go and now I wish I could’ve gone.

•(Clubs)I did join some clubs but I stopped going to their meetings. There were some clubs that I wished I joined but I was too afraid to do it.

•(Photo Album) I like the idea of putting all the memories in one book. In this case, it’s my high school memories. The way how I picture it is like sort of a diary you stick a few pictures onto a page and write a little summary describing what happened in that picture. This is something that I wish I started at the beginning of high school. I also thought of adding pictures of the ppl who signed in my yearbook next to the message that they wrote.

•(Hanging out with friends) Although I did do this I feel like I could have done it more knowing that my friends are going their separate ways due to college. But at the same time, it was really difficult because everyone seemed to be busy.

•(College Courses) My school offered dual enrollment which allows us to take free college courses. I did end up taking some classes but I wished I had taken more just so that I had it easier for my first year of college. Most of this course gave both high school and college credits. I could have graduated in my junior year but I still need one more English class. Which is also a good thing to think about if you want to graduate early.

•(Volunteer)This is a good opportunity to gain more skills and build up your job resume which can look good if you want a job.

... Read moreRegrets in high school are common and often stem from missed opportunities to engage in activities that foster friendships and growth. Participating in senior activities like bowling or skating can create lasting memories, while joining clubs helps build social skills and explore interests. One valuable suggestion is to create a high school memory book. This can be a unique way to compile pictures and experiences that capture the essence of your high school years. You can enhance this by adding yearbook signatures next to photos, creating an unforgettable keepsake. Additionally, spending time with friends, especially as you all move towards different college paths, is crucial. Consider organizing meet-ups or studying together to strengthen those bonds. High school is also the best time to take advantage of dual enrollment opportunities, allowing students to earn college credits early. This not only eases the transition to higher education but often leads to a lighter college course load. Finally, volunteering can significantly enhance your resume and equip you with essential skills for the future. Exploring these options can help current students see the value in making the most of their high school experience.
