Throwback Chengdu Night Market 😍

Take me back to this night in Chengdu 🌙🏮 The air was smoky, the chili oil was flowing, and our hearts (and stomachs) were SO full. From mapo tofu to grilled skewers, we ate our way through the market and loved every second. Best trip, best food, best people—truly unforgettable. 🫶🥢

好想回到成都那晚🌙🏮 满街的香味,红油在锅里翻滚,我们一边辣哭一边说“真香”😆 从街头吃到街尾,胃满了,心更满了。这趟旅行值了!🫶🥢

... Read moreExploring the Chengdu Night Market is like stepping into a vibrant world of flavors and aromas that captivate all your senses. One of my favorite memories was wandering through the bustling stalls where the smoky scent of grilled skewers mingled with the aromatic spiciness of mapo tofu simmering in red chili oil. The term "抚琴第" seen at some stalls adds to the cultural authenticity, reflecting traditional charm alongside the sizzling street food. The market is not just about food, it's an experience that connects you with local life—the constant chatter in Sichuan dialect, the heat of the spices that makes you tear up while saying "真香" (delicious), and the laughter shared with friends and strangers alike as you sample bite after bite. I vividly recall standing by the skewers grilling over coals, the enticing aroma making it impossible to resist. If you love experiencing street food like a local, Chengdu is a top destination. The night market reminded me how food is a universal language that creates unforgettable bonds and memories. Whether you’re a spice lover or a curious traveler, the lively atmosphere combined with the rich culinary offerings brings a truly enriching travel experience. For anyone planning a visit, I recommend pacing yourself and trying a variety of dishes—from the famous mapo tofu to smaller grilled snacks (known locally as "大串"), each bursting with layers of flavor. Don’t forget to take in the vibrant surroundings and allow your senses to fully soak in the culture and tradition behind every dish. It’s these moments that make Chengdu’s night market not just a place to eat, but a deep dive into local heritage and joyful, heartfelt connections.

Love the efficiency, the technology, the food!! Saw a recommendation for 马王子’s roast goose and decided to give it a shot. But it wasn’t the goose that made me fall in love. It was the rest of the dishes that changed my brain chemistry. Mala doesn’t have to be either just spicy or numbing

I’ve tried so many sweet potato balls in Taiwan, but this stall is the most consistent of them all. Crispy on the outside, perfectly chewy on the inside. Not too bland, not too sweet. The shop is simple and clean, and even though it’s deep-fried, it doesn’t taste oily at all. Just pure, addictive
