what color should we paint it?

Choosing the perfect paint color for my Silverado has turned into a surprisingly complex, albeit exciting, journey! I mean, who knew there were so many shades of 'blue' or 'grey' until you start looking at automotive paints? I'm currently deep in the 'PT. 1' phase, getting all the bodywork prepped, but the color decision is definitely the biggest hurdle before I can even think about the final product. I started by looking at classic truck colors. You can't go wrong with a timeless black, which always looks powerful and sleek, or a crisp, clean white that pops. Silver and various shades of grey are also super popular for a reason – they’re practical, hide dirt well, and give a modern, understated vibe. I’ve seen some incredible metallic greys that just have this awesome depth when the light hits them. But then there's the itch to do something a bit more unique. I've been seriously considering some blues and greens. For a Silverado, especially a single cab, a rich, dark blue can look incredibly sharp, almost like a sapphire or a deep ocean hue. I've also been drawn to lighter, more vibrant blues that have a slightly metallic sheen – think something that really makes the truck stand out without being over-the-top. When I hear 'Jet Stream' for a color, it makes me think about how a specific, clean blue-grey color could look phenomenal on a truck. It’s like, what’s the automotive equivalent of that fresh, modern feel? I'm picturing a metallic blue with just a hint of grey, something that feels both sporty and elegant. On the flip side, a deep forest green or even a military-inspired olive drab can give a truck a rugged, adventurous look that I really love. It just depends if I want to go for sleek or tough. Beyond just the aesthetics, I'm trying to think practically. Darker colors, while absolutely stunning, demand more attention when it comes to cleaning, as every speck of dust and swirl mark seems to show. Lighter colors are definitely more forgiving in that regard. I'm also considering how the paint will hold up over time and if it will affect resale value down the line. It's a big investment, and I want to get it right. This whole process of deciding and preparing has been a huge learning curve. I'm still gathering inspiration and weighing all my options before I commit. What colors have you painted your trucks, or what color schemes have you seen that really impressed you?
