Must-see places in the USA before you die …
New to Lemon8!
Something I love:traveling means collecting life experience.
Hey everyone! As someone who truly believes that 'traveling means collecting life experience,' putting together a dream travel list for the USA has been an absolute joy. There’s just so much breathtaking beauty right in our own backyard, and I wanted to share some of the top places that have captured my imagination – places I genuinely feel everyone should try to see before they die! First up on my list is CANYONLANDS National Park, Utah. Just picturing the dramatic vistas, carved by the Colorado and Green rivers, gives me goosebumps. It’s like stepping onto another planet with its mesa and canyon landscapes. I dream of hiking the Syncline Loop or just finding a quiet spot to watch the sunrise paint the vast, ancient formations with incredible colors. It’s a place that just screams adventure and geological wonder. Then there’s the raw, untamed beauty of the OREGON COAST. Forget pristine white beaches; here, it’s all about rugged cliffs, crashing waves, ancient forests meeting the sea, and iconic lighthouses standing sentinel. I’ve heard stories about the dramatic storm watching in winter and the serene tide pools waiting to be explored during low tide. Exploring towns like Cannon Beach with its Haystack Rock, or simply driving along Highway 101, sounds like the perfect escape. A truly surreal experience I yearn for is visiting WHITE SANDS National Park in New Mexico. Imagine endless waves of pure white gypsum dunes shimmering under the sun – it looks straight out of a sci-fi movie! I’ve seen photos of people sledding down these natural wonders, and that’s definitely on my list. It feels like a place where you can truly disconnect and marvel at nature’s artistry. Of course, no American bucket list would be complete without MONUMENT VALLEY, the iconic region in UT and AZ. This place is the quintessential image of the American West, with its towering sandstone buttes and mesas rising dramatically from the desert floor. It’s not just a landscape; it’s a cultural experience, being on Navajo Nation land. I can already picture myself on a guided tour, learning about the rich history and traditions of the Navajo people while soaking in those incredible vistas that have graced so many films. Last but certainly not least, is the majestic ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, CO. The thought of those towering peaks, serene alpine lakes, and abundant wildlife (elk, moose – maybe even a bear from a safe distance!) absolutely thrills me. I’m imagining scenic drives like Trail Ridge Road, leading to incredible overlooks, and challenging hikes that reward you with panoramic views that stretch forever. It’s a place that truly makes you feel small and insignificant in the best possible way, reminding you of nature's grandeur. These destinations aren't just pins on a map; they represent moments of awe, adventure, and connection. They're about stepping out of the everyday and immersing myself in the incredible diversity our country offers. Planning these trips, researching the best times to visit, and even figuring out what gear to bring is all part of the fun. It’s about building memories that will last a lifetime and truly 'collecting life experience.'
