FAQ: Is This Passive Income?
This question comes up all the time, and I’m glad it does because it deserves an honest answer.
“Is it passive income or do you have to work constantly?”
When I first started learning how to build an online business, I imagined passive income meant money appearing in my bank account while I slept and did absolutely nothing.
What I quickly realized is that passive income is built through active effort first.
In the beginning, you are learning new skills. You are figuring out how social media works. You are creating content, understanding how online systems work, and learning how to communicate with people on the internet.
Just like any new career, there is a learning curve.
For me, that meant showing up daily, staying plugged into training, asking questions, and getting comfortable doing something completely outside my corporate comfort zone.
But here is where the shift happens.
Once the systems are in place, once the automations are built, and once you understand the process, parts of the business begin to work for you.
Your content keeps working.
Your systems keep working.
Your email campaigns keep working.
That is where the leverage begins.
So no, it is not about working constantly, but it does require consistency in the beginning while you build the foundation.
The women who succeed in this space are not the ones looking for a quick win.
They are the ones who commit to learning a new skill and stay focused long enough to let the systems do their job.
And for many of us who spent decades in corporate trading hours for a salary, learning how to build something that can eventually create income beyond our time is a completely different way of thinking.
It is not overnight.
It is not magic.
But it is absolutely possible.
