Cna
I love being a CNA, but burnout in this field is rough! I primarily do showers rather than work on the floor, but here lately that’s been impossible. I work as a CNA as needed by a facility I’ve worked at for years off and on. It used to be different. Now it’s almost impossible to get showers done, get last round done, or honestly get everything done that needs to be! I’m not going to say it’s anyone’s fault because I truly believe it’s just the elderly care industry that is going downhill. It’s hard to find good CNA’s and Nurses who will help to make the day go by so much smoother. I once had a nurse sit at the desk and a family member had asked for some ice. The ice pitcher was right behind the nurse and instead of getting it themselves, they asked me who was doing a million other things and had little to no time. To me that was just entirely ridiculous. I hate how people act entitled and think the rooms they’re assigned are the only ones they have to answer to call lights or change when they ask. The elderly need better care, but it’s not just one nursing home. I’ve worked at many not even just where I live and they’re all this way in some shape or form. Residents pay THOUSANDS of dollars a month to live there and get good care, yet end up with some nasty conditions from lack of care. The states do almost nothing about it. You call them and half the facilities are aware they’re coming so they’ll bring office people to the floor that you haven’t seen in the last 2 years you’ve been there. All so they can get a pass and not get an investigation. I truly hope someday the state or SOMEONE higher up takes into consideration the neglect millions of people get every day and who have lost they’re sense of happiness because of this system ❤️ for those who truly care for the residents, THANK YOU. They deserve everything and more.
