It’s one of those small details that makes a HUGE difference, turning a good build into a great one. This will highlight it and bring up a few options around its edges. Step 3: Find the Trim Options Once the roof is selected, look for a small icon that usually appears as a gear or a part of a roof structure. Clicking it will reveal the different roof trim styles available in your game. Sometimes, you might need to click on the roof itself and then look for the ‘Roof Trim’ category in the build menu panel. Step 4: Choose Your Style & Apply! Browse through the various trim options. The Sims 4 offers a pretty decent selection, from classic wooden trims to more modern metallic finishes. Once you've found a trim you like, simply click on it. The trim will automatically apply to all edges of your selected roof section. Easy peasy! My Personal Tips & Tricks for Perfect Roof Trim: Match Your Aesthetic: Don't just pick any trim! Consider the overall style of your house. Is it a rustic farmhouse? A sleek modern abode? Choose a trim that complements your walls, siding, and foundation. I often use the eyedropper tool (E) to pick a color from my walls and then find a trim that matches or beautifully contrasts. Experiment with Materials: Sometimes, a subtle brick trim can look amazing on a stucco house, or a dark wood trim can make a light-colored roof pop. Play around with different materials and colors to see what works best. Don't be afraid to try something unexpected! The Power of Color: Remember you can usually recolor the trim! Dealing with Tricky Roofs: For more complex roof shapes or multiple roof pieces, you might need to select each individual roof section and apply the trim separately. Just take your time, and you'll get it right. If you accidentally apply the wrong trim, just hit Undo (Ctrl+Z) or click the trim again to deselect it. Consistency is Key: While experimenting is great, maintaining some consistency with your trim choices across the entire house usually yields the best results.
