a meal fit for a king

Celebrated my birthday dinner at Empress and it honestly felt so special ✨ The place serves Cantonese-style dishes but in such a chic and modern setting — think warm lights, sleek interiors, and that cozy yet elegant vibe you’d want for a celebration.

We decided on the sharing menu because I really wanted to taste more of their signatures (best choice ever). The king prawn dumpling in supreme broth was such a comforting start, and everything that followed felt like a little feast made to be shared. It wasn’t just dinner, it felt like an experience — slow, intentional, and full of flavour.

Highly recommend coming here for special occasions (or even just when you want to treat yourself). Just a tip: if you want to sit indoors, make sure you book ahead — it was packed when we went!

... Read moreIf you're planning a visit to Empress, I can't recommend the sharing style menu enough. It really lets you sample a great variety of their offerings, including standout dishes like the crispy halibut fillet with XO chilli and succulent Hokkaido scallops. Each bite felt indulgent and packed with flavor, capturing the essence of modern Cantonese cuisine. One tip: indoor seating fills up quickly, so reserving a table in advance is a must, especially for special occasions. The ambience—with warm lighting and elegant interiors—creates a cozy yet upscale vibe that's perfect for celebrations or treating yourself. Don't miss their desserts, either. The pandan crème brûlée and sticky date with longan pudding provide a delightful, memorable finish to the meal. Overall, Empress offers not just food fit for a king but an entire dining experience that's slow, intentional, and full of flavor. Whether it's a birthday or just a self-care treat, this place is truly worth the visit.
