Scores a rainy day water barrier because the folk is lower than the road.
The house that we live with our parents today is over 60 years old. The street in front of the house is getting higher and higher than the floor level around the house, making it rainy. The area around the house is full of water, but the water does not enter the house.
From the main gate, we poured the floor equal to the street in front of the house, so there was another area below the road, so we had to find a way to block the rainwater from flooding the house. It was not difficult to do it ourselves, not more than our father.
As you can see, there is a flood in the garden below the road. We also scored a goal to block the water from entering the house with a 16 mm-thick smart board (thicker than this, but heavier). We plug the plate into the groove on the wall and the floor, which is cut along the line with piglets, and inlay the aluminum U-brow in the groove with glue. When it rains, it is plugged in the water barrier. When it does not rain, it is normal to walk through.
I have to say that even if the flood is blocked, not 100% of the water is permeable, so I have to pump it out. We have two dipping pumps / soaking pumps. The first point is from the seepage area, pump it out into the flooded garden. The other point is to pump it out from the flooded garden to the front drain.
This smart board water barrier door is not less than 6 years old. When it is not plugged in, it is placed against the wall outside the sun in the rain. Today, it is still normal, not rotting, not swollen / buckling. It is durable, worthwhile. It is another application of materials to share. If anyone try to follow or apply it. 🥰
