How I studied for the NCLEX

✨Sending good testing vibes to every nursing students out there. ✨

Take deep breaths. Give yourself a break during the test. Use the noise canceling headphones.

Visit your testing facility before so you know the parking situation.

I walked in early for my test and was able to take it early.

In nursing school. I used concept mapping, ATI templates, and YouTube (Nexus Nursing, Dr Sharon) to learn more about topics since I don’t learn through reading.

For my current nursing students out there: DONT GIVE UP. JUST KEEP SWIMMING! (That was my mantra throughout the whole program) you will survive these hard years— there is a light at the end of the tunnel, I promise.

If you have any question, don’t hesitate to ask :) we are all in this together!

... Read morePreparing for the NCLEX can be daunting, but having a structured and personalized study plan greatly improves your chances of success. Many students benefit from resources like ATI study materials and NCLEX Bootcamp, which simulate the test format and provide detailed explanations through case studies. Consistent daily practice, even in small increments, helps reinforce knowledge and builds confidence. Listening to expert lectures, such as those by Mark K available on Spotify, can simplify complex nursing concepts, especially for auditory learners or those with ADHD who struggle with traditional reading methods. Prioritizing resources that explain answers in video or audio format supports critical thinking and helps students learn to apply nursing knowledge practically. On test day, practical steps can ease anxiety: arriving early, visiting the testing site beforehand, and using noise-canceling headphones support concentration. Incorporating mental breaks during the exam and practicing deep breathing can maintain calm. Additionally, setting reminders to have a funded payment card ready for scheduling the exam prevents administrative delays. Remember, resilience is key. The mantra "Don't give up, just keep swimming" embodies the perseverance nursing students need as they face rigorous coursework and the NCLEX. By combining targeted study aids, practical test strategies, and a positive mindset, nursing students can navigate the NCLEX path confidently and effectively.
