I’ve been a mom longer than I’ve been anything else. Started at 18, and life got real, real fast. It wasn’t easy I climbed every mountain with babies on my hip and pressure on my back.

But I did it.

Now I look at my kids, and they didn’t just turn out okay they leveled up past me. And that’s the goal.

The biggest thing I could ever give them isn’t money or comfort it’s watching me keep going. No matter what. No matter how hard it gets.

My daughter told me that everything that I still have in spite of what I’ve have gone through is not only telling of my resistance in my strength but that it’s proof that God is walking with me ❤️❤️.

Walking into finals on Monday, they’re right there with me. Not just cheering me on but pushing me forward.

Everything I’ve built… was for them.

And seeing them win?

That’s the real reward.

... Read moreFrom my own experience, balancing motherhood with personal goals can feel overwhelming at times, especially when life demands more than what seems manageable. Starting young, I too faced many hurdles, often carrying babies on my hip while pushing through daily struggles. One of the most motivating factors is the desire to set an example for our children. Watching them succeed and grow beyond what we imagine for them is truly fulfilling. It’s not about material gifts, but about demonstrating strength, endurance, and faith through tough times. Taking on big challenges later in life, such as returning to school in your 50s like at Texas A&M, shows that it’s never too late to pursue dreams. Walking across that stage to receive a degree is a moment of triumph not just for you, but for your whole family who has supported and inspired you along the way. Faith plays a critical role in sustaining hope and courage. When times are hard, remembering that we are not alone can provide immense comfort and motivation to keep pushing forward. If you’re preparing for big tests or life milestones, consider carving out time just for yourself afterward to recharge and celebrate. This balance between perseverance and self-care helps maintain mental and emotional well-being. Ultimately, everything we endure and build is for those we love. The joy of seeing our children succeed and knowing we played a part in that journey is the greatest reward of all. Keep going, no matter the obstacles—you are stronger than you think.

Unhealthy things I am unlearning as a mom 🌸
Being a good mom is my top priority. 1. Punishing emotions. I will not get my daughter in trouble for yelling at me, crying, or anything else. If you were crying and somebody told you you have no reason to be, or that they’ll give you a reason to cry, how would you feel? Worse? 2. Shaming.
