New 3D Print Project!

If you're like me and obsessed with Jujutsu Kaisen, bringing your favorite elements to life through 3D printing is incredibly rewarding! My latest project, Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine, has been a journey, and I want to share some tips for anyone looking to dive into JJK 3D printing, whether you're using Tinkercad or other platforms. The first step is always finding or creating a good 3D model. For intricate designs like the Malevolent Shrine or detailed characters like Sukuna or Gojo, I often start by searching sites like Cults3D, MyMiniFactory, or Thingiverse. These platforms are rich with amazing community-created 3D printed anime figures. Sometimes, if I can't find exactly what I want, I'll even try my hand at modifying existing models or creating simple parts in Tinkercad. Tinkercad is fantastic for beginners, especially for sketching out ideas or combining basic shapes for props. For complex figures, you might need more advanced software, but Tinkercad can be a great starting point for smaller details or custom bases for your Jujutsu Kaisen figures. Once you have your model, printing requires a bit of patience and tweaking. For 3D printed anime figures, especially those with delicate features, supports are your best friend. As you can see from my Malevolent Shrine progress, removing supports carefully is crucial to a clean finish. I usually opt for a layer height of 0.12mm to capture good detail on figures, and always ensure my bed adhesion is perfect to avoid frustrating failed prints. PLA is typically my go-to filament for props and figures due to its ease of use and how well it takes paint. After printing, the real magic happens with the finishing touches! This often involves sanding down any rough spots or layer lines to get a smooth surface. For the Malevolent Shrine, I'm planning a detailed spray painting job to capture its distinct look from the show. Don't skip priming! A good primer will help your paint adhere better and give you a more even finish. For characters like Gojo, getting those specific eye colors or the unique textures of their clothing right can truly make the figure pop. I love using acrylics for fine details after a base coat of spray paint. Seeing other people's 3D printed anime figures, whether it's a fierce Sukuna 3D model or a cool Gojo Tinkercad design, always inspires me to push my own projects further. It's a fantastic way to connect with the JJK fandom and bring a piece of your favorite series into the real world. Don't be afraid to experiment, learn from each print, and share your creations.
