Rearfoot Valgus! This causing ur foot/ankle pain?

... Read moreFrom my experience working with patients dealing with rearfoot valgus, one of the first signs you'll notice is the heel no longer sitting neutrally but tilting outward, placing extra strain on your ankle tendons and ligaments. This misalignment can often trigger painful conditions like plantar fasciitis or medial ankle tendonitis. I found that focusing on ankle stability exercises helps significantly in managing symptoms. For example, strengthening the peroneal muscles through targeted taping or bracing can relieve stress around the outer ankle and prevent worsening of valgus. Additionally, appropriate footwear that supports your arches and avoids excessive pronation can make a real difference in your daily comfort. In some cases, orthotic inserts customized to correct foot alignment have provided substantial relief for those suffering from persistent side foot pain or ankle valgus. It’s important not to ignore hard lumps or bony prominences that might develop along the side of your foot — these could be bone spurs related to chronic strain. Early assessment by a physiotherapist or podiatrist can help determine the best corrective measures. Overall, I encourage anyone experiencing front or side ankle pain, especially after injuries, to monitor changes in foot position carefully. Combining professional guidance with dedicated at-home care, including stability exercises and proper footwear, has consistently helped me and many patients reduce pain and improve mobility.

Ankle pain? This is 1 Pilates move I still teach

This is why pilates footwork is so important
What I actually say to my patients during footwork — and why it matters for your knees. The way your foot loads under pressure tells me a lot about why your knee hurts. Medial loading = more stress through the inner knee. A simple cue to shift the load changes everything. ✨This is where Ph
