needing, asking for, and accepting help is part of my growth

4 days agoEdited to

... Read moreReflecting on my own journey, I’ve realized that needing help doesn’t signify weakness but rather an important step toward growth. There was a time when I believed I had to do everything alone, echoing the sentiment from the image text: “I cannot hup do alone.” Admitting this truth was difficult, yet it opened the door for deeper connections and support from others. By asking for help, I not only found practical solutions but also strengthened relationships. It encouraged me to be more honest with myself and those around me. Accepting help transformed my self-view from one focused solely on independence to one that values interdependence. This shift is crucial because growth often requires collaborative effort and learning from others. In practical terms, seeking assistance helped me manage stress and avoid burnout. It allowed me to allocate my energy more effectively, focusing on what I could do best while others supported me in areas where I struggled. This balance created space for creativity and new opportunities. On a personal note, this process also taught me humility and patience. It helped me accept that perfection and all-encompassing self-reliance are unrealistic goals. Instead, growth is a continuous journey where being open to support leads to resilience and richer life experiences. If you find yourself reluctant to ask for help, remember that it is a sign of strength, not weakness. Embracing this mindset can deeply enhance your growth journey and produce more meaningful connections along the way.

AuDHD burnout isn’t just being tired. It’s a full-system depletion that affects energy, emotions, sensory tolerance, and executive functioning all at once. And for many women, it builds slowly over months of pushing through, masking, and managing more than your nervous system was designed to hold.
