You could be wrong.
People tell me all the time, “I know what I need to do, I’m just not doing it.”
OR maybe you don’t know what you need to do, you just think you know.
Things have changed! Trainers are no longer recommending cardio 7 days a week, insane calorie restriction, and low weight and high reps for being toned.
What we ARE recommending, and what I live by, is body REcomposition using these things to decrease the fat in your body and increase the muscle on your body.
You don’t have to be a body builder.
But you need muscle to:
-Burn more calories (even at rest)
-Improve bone density
-Remain functional as we age
-AND SO MUCH MORE
Once you put on more muscle, you can eat more calories without worrying about gaining fat as quickly.
Numerous studies have linked leg strength to longevity.
In the big picture, you could be adding quality years to your life.
More years playing with grandkids.
More years traveling when you retire.
More years of wiping your own….
Harsh, but true.
Go to the gym and lift something heavy! Or do it at home. Just do it.
Challenges and trainers are great motivators to get some accountability!
