I want to start this out by saying a lot of the times we find ourselves in some sort of probelm or trying to figure out life and sometimes we are just so deep into our own issues that when god does answers our prayers and what we asked we can't accept it and don't understand why things are changing and just can't see the vision because we are stuck in our current situation but I'm here to tell you that you need to stop asking for him to do things for you like for instance god if this relationship is not meant for me please give me a sign or make the relationship not work then he gives you a sign clear as day and you just can't accept it or god please prune out all my bad friends and keep the good ones and then you suddenly lose 5 friends please Open your eyes after you ask for something in prayer, and just accept things for what they are. He is removing people and changing situations and things to make your life better in the long run, so please just try your best to accept things for what they are and trust God and his timing because he doesn't miss. Also, pray about things if you are having a hard time dealing with changes. Because it is hard to believe when things and people you have become familiar with suddenly leave your life, just trust God and trust the process. #Lemon8Diary#shareyourthoughts#christian#christiangirl

... Read moreHey everyone! Laya's post really resonated with me because I’ve definitely been in that place where I prayed for something so earnestly, and when God answered, it looked nothing like I expected. It’s a real challenge, right? We often have a picture in our minds of how things should unfold, and when God steps in with His divine plan, it can feel confusing, even unsettling.
So, how do we know when God has answered our prayers, especially if it isn't a direct 'yes' in the way we envisioned? It's not always a booming voice from the sky! Sometimes, it's a profound sense of peace about a decision, an unexpected opportunity that opens up (or a door that firmly closes), or even a quiet conviction in your spirit. Remember that powerful message, "DON'T BE SURPRISED WHEN GOD ANSWERS YOUR PRAYERS"? It’s a good reminder that His answers can come in countless forms, often surprising us because we're looking for something specific. Pay attention to those subtle shifts, the people He brings into your life, or even the challenges that ultimately lead to growth. These can be clear signs God has answered your prayers, even if they're not what you initially thought.
This is where John 13:7 becomes such a cornerstone of faith. The verse says, 'you don't understand now what i am doing, but someday you will.' Wow, doesn't that hit home? It’s tough to trust when we can't see the full picture, but this verse encourages us to lean into God's sovereignty. For example, I once prayed for a specific job, and it didn't work out. I was heartbroken! But looking back, that 'no' led me to an even better opportunity I never would have considered. It was God pruning something that wasn't for me, just like the author mentioned.
When we pray for specific things, like a short prayer for work, God might answer by giving us the courage to pursue a new skill, connecting us with a mentor, or even by allowing us to experience a layoff that pushes us into a more fulfilling path. His answers might not be a promotion but a redirection. For prayers like a protection prayer for my husband, God’s answer might not mean an absence of all struggles, but rather His presence through them. It could be strength to face a difficult situation, wisdom to avoid danger, or even character growth through adversity that ultimately makes him stronger and more resilient. His protection is holistic, not just physical.
And for prayers for health and healing, God’s answer can be miraculous physical recovery, or it could be peace in chronic illness, wisdom for medical professionals, or even emotional and spiritual healing that transcends physical symptoms. I prayed for a friend’s healing once, and while their physical condition didn't improve, they found incredible peace and purpose in their journey, which was a profound answer in itself. Similarly, when we pray for children, God answers by guiding them, protecting their hearts, shaping their character, and sometimes, yes, allowing them to experience consequences that teach them valuable lessons. It’s about trusting He has their best interests at heart, even when we wish we could shield them from every bump in the road.
The Bible is full of reassurance about God answering prayers. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us to 'not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.' And Jeremiah 29:11, 'For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' So, let's keep praying, but also keep our eyes open and our hearts ready to accept God's answers, in whatever form they come. Trusting Him completely is a journey, but it’s one filled with incredible peace and purpose. He truly doesn't miss!
