At first, I used to resist changes, fearing that evolving meant losing who I was. But over time, I realized that change isn’t just about leaving things behind—it’s about growing into a better version of yourself. Normalizing growth means acknowledging that it’s okay—and even necessary—to shed old habits and beliefs that no longer serve you. It’s empowering to recognize that not being who you used to be is a sign of progress. For instance, I embraced new challenges, learned from my setbacks, and welcomed different perspectives, which helped me heal and develop a stronger sense of self. One practice that helped me was journaling about my emotions and experiences. Writing honestly helped me keep it real and stay engaged with my inner growth. Using affirmations like “You didn’t come this far to stay the same” reminded me to honor my journey. If you’re on a healing journey or in a season of growth, try to celebrate each small win and be gentle with yourself during setbacks. Evolving may feel uncomfortable at times, but remember, it’s the key to lifelong healing and self-improvement. Embrace change, because if you’re evolving, you’re truly doing it right.
