Hair Transplant Update. #hairtransplant
Having undergone a hair transplant in February, I've come to understand the nuances of the recovery and growth phases. One key insight is that initial hair loss after the transplant is normal as the scalp adjusts, often called the 'shedding phase,' but this is a precursor to healthy new hair growth. In my experience, patience is essential since hair growth typically starts slowly around two to three months post-procedure. I found that using gentle, dermatologically recommended shampoos helped avoid irritation during this sensitive phase. Harsh products can cause discomfort or slow down healing. Additionally, I avoided hats or anything that could cause friction on the scalp, as this could interfere with graft survival. A practical tip is to keep the scalp clean and breathe easy at night—meaning, avoid sleeping in positions that put pressure on the transplanted areas. Consistency in following your surgeon’s care instructions, including avoiding direct sun exposure and refraining from scratching, significantly impacts the transplant's success. Sharing from my journey, it's important to emotionally prepare for the ups and downs since the visual results develop gradually. Joining support forums or communities around hair transplant experiences can provide motivation and useful advice. Overall, while the beginning phases may seem slow or uncertain, patience and proper care are key to seeing good results.
