I visited Song Gye Ok not once, but twice—because one meal wasn’t enough 👀 Had to try both their dinner and lunch menus, and here’s the full breakdown:
🔥 Dinner at Song Gye Ok (Saturday Night)

🍗Marinated Chicken Thigh ($28)
Boneless Neck Fillet ($28)
Both grilled right in front of us on a charcoal grill by the staff 🔥 Super juicy and tender, with just the right amount of smoky char. Loved dipping them in all the sauces and chilis 🤤

(They also offer chicken sets, but we skipped those since they include organs—just personal preference!)
🍜Bibim Noodles ($28)
A dry noodle dish with gochujang, minced meat, seaweed. Slightly spicy, good texture, tasty and easy to eat but nothing super mind-blowing.

🍜Jidori Udon ($24)
Udon in a rich, comforting chicken broth with tender chicken pieces. Heartwarming and flavorful.

🔎 Dinner Verdict: Great quality chicken—well-marinated and grilled to perfection. I’m still a beef BBQ lover at heart, but this was a solid alternative for chicken fans.

Tried their Kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) and both options hit the spot!

A flavorful chicken soup that actually gets better the more you eat. Loved that they offer free soup refills 😍

Also chicken-based, but the spicy version still tasty but preferred the collagen one.

Noodles had great bite, broth was umami-rich but not too heavy—perfect for lunch.

Think traditional Korean hanok meets modern comfort—spacious, stylish, and welcoming. Despite being packed during dinner, there’s tons of seating and the lunch crowd moved quickly. No wait on a Monday afternoon 🙌

Song Gye Ok is definitely a chicken-lover’s haven. From BBQ to noodle soups, the flavors are bold but balanced. While not every dish was a standout, everything was tasty and overall it’s worth a visit—especially for that collagen soup and tender charcoal chicken.
