I Took a Mental Health Day… and God Met Me There 🌱

Day 14 of The Mustard Seed Journal 🌱

Today was a reminder that sometimes progress looks like resting, releasing, following through, and simply taking care of what God has already placed in your hands.

And I'm learning something else:

I don't have to explain a season God is walking me through. 🩷

💭 Journal question:

Are you allowing God to lead your season, or are you still trying to make it make sense to everyone else?

The journal is closed for today. 🩷

Until tomorrow, keep choosing faith one mustard seed at a time.

... Read moreTaking a mental health day isn’t just about pausing your routine — it’s an opportunity to reconnect with your inner peace and spiritual path. From my experience, dedicating a day to rest, decluttering, and reflection allowed me to see how God meets us in those quiet moments when we surrender our worries. On one such day, I chose to step back from my usual commitments and focused on caring for what God had already placed in my life. Simple acts like tidying my space, organizing my work desk, and having meaningful conversations revealed how much clarity and gratitude can emerge from these seemingly small actions. It was a powerful reminder that rest is a form of faith — trusting that progress isn’t always about visible achievements but sometimes about preparing the heart and mind. What resonated most was realizing I didn’t have to explain my current season or struggle for approval from others. Inspired by Psalm 46:10 — “Be still, and know that I am God” — I learned to accept that my journey is uniquely mine, and God’s purpose for my life doesn’t always require external understanding. This helped me relinquish the pressure to make my season make sense to everyone and instead embrace patience and obedience in the waiting. For anyone feeling overwhelmed or pressured, I encourage you to try this approach: take intentional pauses, use the time to declutter both physical and emotional spaces, and invite God into those moments through prayer and reflection. You might discover, like I did, that mental health days can become sacred spaces for healing, guidance, and growth — nurturing both your well-being and your faith, one mustard seed at a time.

I decided to post this for awareness. If you or anyone you know struggles with mental health you might not realize how much it is actually affecting you or how far out there you actually are. I’ve noticed most times people think they are at a 1-2 and they are not. We have normalized a lot of not so
