What do we mean when we say Legacy?

Legacy isn’t just a word that defines a body of people sent on a mission passed down from another. It’s the echo of someone’s values, the mark of their actions, and the lives they’ve help shape along the way.

When we say Legacy, we are talking about our friend Robert Banghart

There may not be a strong enough definition to fully capture what Rob has done…not just for our foundation, but for every single person lucky enough to cross his path. His dedication and unwavering heart have helped build Shine A Light into what it is today. More than that, he’s shown us what it means to lead with compassion and integrity.

Rob has shown up with purpose. He brought people together, he lifted voices that needed to be heard, and he reminded us, time and again, why this work matters. Whether in quiet moments behind the scenes or out front leading the charge, Rob led with humility and heart.

For those of us lucky enough to call Rob our friend, we know his influence isnt always loud - but it has always been poweful

As we look ahead, we carry Rob’s example with us and know it’s something we live out every day in the work we do, the people we serve, and the values we hold close.
