When I start a piece like this, getting the details right, from the flow of the gown to Marie's unique expression, is key. My process often begins with a rough digital sketch to get the pose and proportions right, followed by detailed line art. If you saw the screenshot of my digital art program, you'd notice the 'layers panel' with various named layers – that's how I build up the artwork, adding colors, shadows, and highlights in stages. It’s a common approach in many digital art styles, allowing for flexibility and refinement. While this particular piece showcases Marie in a more formal, elegant gown, it's always fun to think about other possibilities.
