The kind of love I write about 🥀lesbian love 📚

3/6 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! 👋 As someone who absolutely adores writing, especially about women-loving-women (WLW) relationships, I've always felt a deep pull to explore diversity within our stories. When I first started diving into WLW fiction, I noticed that while there were incredible romances, sometimes the representation felt a little… narrow. It made me wonder, what about all the amazing, varied experiences out there? That's what really ignited my passion to write the kind of love stories that reflect the rich tapestry of our community. For me, diversity in WLW fiction isn't just a buzzword; it's about seeing ourselves reflected in all our beautiful forms. It means moving beyond a single archetype and embracing characters from different racial backgrounds, body types, ages, abilities, and socio-economic statuses. Imagine a tender moment between two women, like the one captured in a tropical setting, where one is leaning over the pool's edge, gazing lovingly at the other in the water. Now, picture that moment with characters who might be in their fifties, or one who is a powerful CEO and the other an adventurous artist, or perhaps a character navigating the world with a disability. Each variation adds so much depth and relatability to the affection being conveyed, making the story resonate with a broader audience. When I'm crafting my narratives, I try to think about the myriad ways love can blossom and the unique challenges and joys that different individuals bring to a relationship. It's about showcasing that lesbian love isn't monolithic; it's vibrant, complex, and as diverse as the women who experience it. Sometimes it's a slow burn between two introverts, sometimes it's an undeniable spark between women from vastly different cultures, and sometimes it's about finding love later in life. These diverse perspectives not only enrich the story but also help readers feel seen and understood. Finding these diverse stories can sometimes feel like a treasure hunt, but they are out there! Look for authors who are explicitly committed to diverse representation, explore indie publishing platforms, and follow book bloggers or communities that highlight a wide range of WLW narratives. As a writer, my hope is to contribute to this growing space, offering stories where every woman can find a piece of her heart reflected on the page. It’s an incredibly fulfilling journey to bring these authentic, diverse lesbian love stories to life, and I truly believe they make our literary world so much richer. What kind of diverse WLW stories are you hoping to read more of?

I used to be the kind of writer who edited every sentence as I wrote it. I thought that’s what “good writers” did: make everything polished right away. After all, a lot of posts about writing told me I had to be perfect on my first draft. It would give me burnout… But all it did was stall me. I

What I actually write in my journal
Most of what I write would make zero sense to anyone else. Half sentences. Random memories. A line that just says, “this feels heavy” over and over again. It’s not polished. It’s not linear. It’s not even always coherent. And that’s kind of the point. Your journal isn’t where you perf
