Daily factors such as harsh weather, pollution, and over-cleansing can weaken this barrier, leading to increased dryness and irritation. Incorporating ingredients like ceramides, fatty acids, and cholesterol in your skincare routine helps rebuild and fortify the barrier. These nutrients mimic the skin’s natural lipids, restoring its protective functions. Additionally, avoiding irritants like fragrances, alcohol, and harsh exfoliants supports barrier health.
