I stopped relaxing my hair a few years ago and let my curls grow. I have always relaxed my hair for as long as I can remember, so I have never known what kind of curls I had. It was DEFINITELY a journey, and it was filled with many ups and downs. In the end, although I enjoyed seeing my curly hair grow out, I got burned out. Having a full-time job plus school and other responsibilities, I didn’t have the time to give the needed attention, time, and love my hair needed.
Eventually, I decided that it was best for me to relax my hair. But I feel like I learned so much in my curly hair journey and how to care for my hair better. I have added things into my hair routine that I didn’t do before. For example, I deep-condition my week twice a month, adding oil treatments and constantly checking the ingredients in shampoo and conditioner bottles before I buy, along with other things. Maybe those things may be obvious to some, but when you’re young, you don’t know until you learn.
Has anyone else relaxed their hair from going natural? Do you have any suggestions or product recommendations?

It's crucial to understand your hair type, as it helps in determining the right products and techniques to maintain healthy curls. The Curly Girl Method is a popular approach that emphasizes using sulfate-free shampoos, silicone-free conditioners, and deep conditioning treatments to keep curls hydrated. Incorporating regular moisturizing routines, such as using leave-in conditioners and curl creams, can also enhance curl definition and minimize frizz.
