Mourn If You Need To

We can get so caught mourning what didn’t work out that we miss what God is doing next. 💭

Mourn if you need to, but don’t stay there forever. He’s still working. Don’t miss it.

Lord, help me see what You’re doing next. Give me courage to move with You.

... Read moreWhen I think about what I want God to do for me in 2025, this message of mourning but moving forward really resonates. It reminds me that it's natural to grieve when things fall apart—whether it's a relationship, a job, or a dream. But God doesn’t want us to stay stuck in sadness. Instead, He’s inviting us to see beyond our pain and into the new things He’s already working on. Personally, I’ve found that allowing myself to mourn fully has been healing. However, what helped me most was asking God to give me eyes to see what He’s doing next—and the courage to step into it. That hope has carried me through times of disappointment. In 2025, I want to focus on trusting God’s timing and plans more deeply. Even when events don’t go as I hoped, I believe He is raising up better opportunities and new beginnings aligned with His will. It’s comforting to remember how God prepared the next king while Samuel was still mourning Saul. This reminds me that God’s purposes are always moving forward, and our setbacks don’t stop His work. If you’re feeling lost or stuck, I encourage you to mourn if you need to—that honesty is important. But then, gently ask God to shift your vision toward what He’s preparing next. Let faith and hope steer you out of grief and into a fresh season of growth and trust. God’s plans don’t stall because of our heartbreak; He’s still working, and there is so much to look forward to.

It's okay to mourn the child you never got to be
When we never got to be that child, it's okay to mourn that child. We had to grow up too fast, or were forced into a life we didn't want or shouldn't have ever seen. So when we get to a certain point in our life it's time to mourn that poor child we never got to be... Even though so

A counselor once told me, 'You must learn to mourn the loss of the drug, as if it were your best friend or a loved one who’s passed.' This resonates with me years later. Addiction is tricky; it looms in the background waiting for vulnerable moments. Take care of yourself. • • • • #j

Letting go….
One of the most difficult aspects of letting someone go is the feeling of powerlessness. We often believe that if we just hold on a little tighter, things can be fixed. But love, trust, and connection are not things we can force. They either grow naturally or wither away over time. The act of letti

Is it time to stop being sad?
Oftentimes, at least personally, I find myself holding onto old emotions and memories. Especially anger and sadness. I find myself wanting to grasp it so tightly that it’s unhealthy. Maybe I’m scared to stop mourning because I’m scared it’ll show that I don’t love that person enough. Or may

Jim Carrey once said: Grief is not just an emotion—it’s an unraveling, a space where something once lived but is now gone. It carves through you, leaving a hollow ache where love once resided. In the beginning, it feels unbearable, like a wound that will never close. But over time, the raw edges

Grief
Dealing with grief is not easy to handle alone. Grief stinks and we can’t control that people die we all will one day but we have to treat everyday like it is our last. Losing someone I met 6 yrs ago just breaks me that others do not know how to grieve. Those whom are grieving are not alone and n

I used to mourn my 20’s like they were already over (even though I’m only halfway through them) like I somehow failed a decade I’m still living in. I grieved the life I thought I should’ve had instead of paying attention to the one right in front of me. honestly the biggest thing that helped was
