Did you know iPad windows snap like a Mac now?

✨ iPadOS 26 but make it desktop-core ✨

If you’ve been dragging windows around like it’s 2023… this one’s for you 🫶

Today I’m breaking down flick-to-snap gestures + all the hidden window options Apple barely explained.

This is a VERY detailed tutorial, so you can stop guessing and start multitasking effortlessly.

🪟 What I show in this video

Flick Gestures (the magic part):

• Flick a window left or right → instantly tiles it to that side

• Flick up → full screen

• Flick down → minimizes without closing the app

Window Bar Menu → Move & Resize:

• Halves: left, right, top, bottom

• Quarters: top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right

• Arrange:

– left & right

– right & left

– top & bottom

– full quarters layout

Slide Over (yes, it’s back):

• Move to left Slide Over

• Move to right Slide Over

• Hide Slide Over

• Exit Slide Over completely

Bonus gestures & views:

• Swipe up + hold → Exposé view (see all windows across apps)

• Dock app icon → press & hold to open new windows or view all windows for that app

💜 Mini Must-Knows

💜 You don’t need Split View anymore

This system replaces the old multitasking — it’s true desktop-style windowing.

💜 Flicking = faster than dragging

Once you learn the edges, multitasking becomes muscle memory.

💜 App icons are multitasking shortcuts

Long-press Dock icons to instantly manage windows like macOS.

iPadOS 26 finally lets the iPad behave like a computer — but in a soft, aesthetic, touch-first way 🤍

Once this clicks, your workflow feels clean, intentional, and kinda addictive.

Save this for later ✨

... Read moreDid Apple quietly turn the iPad into a desktop? It certainly feels that way with the incredible advancements in iPadOS 26! If you've been dreaming of your iPad acting more like a Mac, especially when it comes to managing multiple apps, then you're in for a treat. These new windowing capabilities truly bridge the gap, making your iPad feel like a powerful, portable desktop. One of the biggest game-changers for me has been the ability to create dynamic, flexible workspaces on my iPad, much akin to macOS Spaces. With the enhanced iPad window snapping and flick-to-snap gestures, I can effortlessly arrange my apps into logical groupings. For instance, I have one 'workspace' dedicated to writing, with my word processor snapped to one side and a research browser on the other. A quick flick, and I can switch to another 'workspace' where I have my communication apps open, ready for quick replies. And let's talk about the iPad desktop mode experience. The 'Swipe up + hold → Exposé view' feature is essentially your iPad's version of Mission Control! It's incredibly powerful to see all your open app windows and grouped layouts at a glance. No more digging through the App Switcher to find that one specific document. You can instantly jump between different tasks, creating a workflow that's incredibly fluid and efficient. It's like having multiple virtual desktops right at your fingertips, making complex projects feel manageable. To truly unlock the full potential of this desktop mode, I've found that integrating an external display, along with a keyboard and mouse, completely transforms the experience. My iPad becomes the central hub, extending my workspace and allowing for even more intricate window arrangements. Imagine having your main content on the external monitor and your reference materials or communication apps neatly arranged on your iPad's screen, all managed with those intuitive flick gestures and the Exposé view. It’s a seamless blend of tablet portability and desktop power. My advice? Don't be afraid to experiment with these new features. Play around with different window sizes, try flicking windows to all corners, and get comfortable with the Exposé view. Once you grasp how these tools work together, your iPad will feel less like a large iPhone and more like the versatile powerhouse it was always meant to be. It has genuinely changed how I approach productivity on my iPad, making every task feel more intentional and less cumbersome.
